University Planning
The mission of UP is to inform the University's decision-making process as it relates to the physical environment of the campus. University Planning (UP) is responsible for a diverse range of functions. UP is involved in the early phases of a project, such as the programming of space needs and the defining of a project's scope, schedule and budget. UP conducts feasibility studies to determine the most effective approach (i.e. renovation, adaptive reuse, building addition, new construction, or combination) to meet academic and administrative space needs. UP conducts a variety of planning studies at different scales (i.e. the campus, areas of the campus, groups of buildings and individual buildings) and inputs the implementation projects from such studies into the capital budgeting process. UP tracks the University's space assets for the Central and Athletic campuses and provides assistance to users with off-campus space needs. UP provides project management services on selected projects.
