Dear Yale Colleagues,
This is to announce that Mr.Sam Carbone has been promoted to Director of Project Management in Facilities
Construction & Renovation effective June 21, 2007. Sam will be replacing Mr. Steve Brown who has taken a new position
in Construction & Renovation as Director of Technology Systems & Development, also effective June 21, 2007.
Sam joined Yale as a Project Manager/Construction Manager (PM/CM) in Fall 2006. He has been responsible for the
project management and construction management of the Art & Architecture/ History of Art, Kroon (FES), and Anthropology (158 Whitney)
projects since joining Yale and recently was given the PM/CM responsibility for the Health Services Center project. In his new role
Sam will be a practitioner leader where he will directly manage some of our largest projects during the development of construction
documents through the completion of construction. He will also lead our current Project Management staff who will primarily manage
the construction documents and construction for the remainder of our larger projects.
Sam has a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Michigan and his master's degree in architecture from Yale University.
Before joining Yale, Sam spent most of his career working for Tishman Realty and Construction Corporation where he had significant construction
management responsibilities for hotel and high rise construction in Puerto Rico and New York City.
