New Director of Construction Management

November 10, 2004

Dear Yale Colleagues,

This is to let you know that Tom Harry will join the Yale Facilities Construction & Renovation organization as the Director of Construction Management effective November 15, 2004.

Tom comes to Yale after twenty-four years of experience in the construction management business including most recently with the Turner Construction Company in Milford, Connecticut. Tom is a Construction Management graduate from Arizona State University. He has held key leadership roles in the construction industry as partially summarized below:

  1. Project Executive for projects in Connecticut averaging $80MM plus per year
  2. Purchasing Manager for over $500MM of construction in Connecticut
  3. Project Manager and Area Superintendent roles on many significant projects in New York (both the state and NYC)

I expect Tom to hit the ground running based on his breadth of experience and technical mastery in the construction business. I have asked him to focus initially on completing the evaluation and recommendation of an Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP), deployment of a University wide construction projects safety program, and an evaluation of our construction contracting practices. He will also partner with Steve Brown to complete a monthly projects results reporting system for major projects in early 2005.

Please join me in welcoming Tom to Yale.

Jerry Warren
